  • WMTS Board

Hello members,

Our April board meeting was jam packed with updates on our upcoming production, The Mad Ones, running for one night only on June 1st at Grove Park Theatre. The cast have been announced, ticket sales live and rehearsals in full swing. We really hope to see you there. You can get your tickets here: https://www.groveparktheatre.co.uk/the-mad-ones/43

We are still trying to increase the profile of the Society as a whole within the local community and Trustee Mark has been knocking it out the park with designs for publicity. We are looking to put together a ‘Street Team’ who would be responsible for flyering ahead of upcoming events and generally promoting the society around Wrexham. If you’re outgoing, love speaking to people and have a few spare hours, this could be the role for you! Please email communications@wmts.wales to get involved.

Our treasurer is continuing to work hard to pull together the accounts for the year end and look at ways to grow the Society’s finances. Further information about membership fees will be sent out in June when our financial year starts.

Finally, our AGM is being held on Tuesday 30th April, 6pm at the Lager Club. We do hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Our next meeting is the 9th May.

  • WMTS Board

Hello members,

As we jump into Spring, our board meetings continue to focus on our upcoming production of The Mad Ones on June 1st at Grove Park Theatre. We continue to compile some policies to govern our interactions with members and volunteers and we’re working on a risk register to ensure the Society is in a good position to respond to any adverse events.

We are looking for individuals who would like to be part of our production team for The Mad Ones, so if you have some time to spare and skills to share, please get in touch!

We also welcomed Rebecca Butler to the Board of Trustees following a successful application. Keep an eye on our social media channels to get to know more about her. We are also still looking to recruit to another vacant trustee position. This would require attendance at monthly meetings, informal catch ups when required and likely leading on one are of our work. If you’re interested or would like to know more, please email secretary@wmts.wales.

Our next meeting is April 11th.

Dear Member,

Following feedback, we are keeping our website up to date with news of what the board is doing for you as the membership of WMTS. Hopefully this will keep you in the loop on a more regular basis and allow you to raise anything that you may wish to be discussed at a board meeting or provide other feedback.

Our February meeting was varied with agenda items covering a new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy, discussion around the need for a formal risk register, our current set up with sub-committees and exciting news on our upcoming production(s). We welcomed Andy Gallanders as a new Trustee, having been co-opted to a vacancy following calls for expressions of interest in our Christmas newsletter. We are however still looking to fill three positions, so do let us know if you’re interested in getting involved and we can send more information about the role and the process for applying.

Finally, if anyone is in the market for a large supply of glassware, do let us know, as our former bar glass stock is taking up valuable storage space!

Watch this page for updates from our next meeting on March 14th, to include the date for our AGM and social.
