WMTS: Raising the curtain

First established in 1942, Wrexham Musical Theatre Society (WMTS) celebrated its 80th year in 2022 with a new Board of Trustees and a new vision for the future. Formerly the Wrexham Operatic Society, WMTS was previously based at premises on Rivulet Road and, from 1979 to 2016, put on a variety of adult and youth productions and social events. 

 

Using a variety of community venues across Wrecsam, the board are working to provide opportunities within the Arts for the people of Wrecsam.

Current Chair, Siôn Edwards, said “Rejuvenating The Society and providing more opportunities for people in Wrecsam to engage with the arts has been our ultimate aim and, in just two months, we’ve made great progress to bring WMTS back to life and up-to-date for a new audience. Community is at the heart of our ethos and will be central to The Society’s future so we hope as many people from the town will join us on this journey”.
